125 years ago, on June 1 (14), 1906, in the city of Bialystok, Grodno Province, the events of perhaps the most famous manifestation of anti-Jewish violence in the territory of the Russian Empire broke out. According to official data, 88 Jews were killed and hundreds were injured as a tragic consequence of the three-day riots in the city.
The pogrom in Bialystok is a bloody symbol of anti-Semitism and Xenophobia in the Russian Empire. It was spread and intimidated not only inside the "people's prison," but also far beyond it — Great Britain, Germany, France, the United States, and even Argentina.
Yehor Vradii talks about the course, causes and significance of the Pogrom in Bialystok.
