On June 9 distinguished guests visited Museum "Jewish Memory ad Holocaust in Ukraine" - the head of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration Serhiy Osachuk and the head of the Jewish community of Chernivtsi Leonid Milman.
During the tour, which was conducted by the Deputy Director of Museum Dr. Yehor Vradii, they talked about Ukrainian-Jewish relations in history, the peculiarities of the Holocaust in Ukraine, the tragedy of the twentieth century. Furthermore, Serhiy Osachuk is a candidate of historical sciences, the author of a number of scientific publications on the history of the Germans of Bukovina, interethnic relations, diplomatic documents on the history of the region, as well as popular science essays on the history of Chernivtsi.
Interestingly, it was on the initiative of Mr. Osachuk that the Celan Literary Center was established in Chernivtsi, which dedicates its activities to the popularization of multinational and multilingual literature of Bukovina. And artistic events related to the life and work of Paul Celan have been held in our Museum many times.
