Dear colleagues!
We invite you to take part in the International Conference-Webinar about Professor Paul A. Levine "Forward and don't forget: writing & teaching about the Holocaust today", dedicated to the memory of a prominent scientist, good friend and partner of the "Tkuma" Ukrainian Institute and Museum "Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”.
During the scientist's visit to the Dnipro in 2013, the idea arose to make a Ukrainian version of the famous textbook by Stefan Bruchfeld and Paul Levine "Tell this to your children:": A book about the Holocaust in Europe 1933-1945. Its first edition, published 20 years ago, was later translated into many languages. To date, the manual remains a highly effective educational tool and platform for children, parents, teachers, schools and universities. In each of the dozens of countries where the book was published, it included a special section written by local historians about the peculiarities of the Holocaust in that country.
In 2018, the book was first published by the Tkuma Institute in Ukrainian with a special section on the history of the Jewish people and the tragedy of the Holocaust in Ukraine. Now this textbook, is recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and very popular among Ukrainian educators.
The conference will be attended by experts on the Holocaust and memory studies, in particular: Prof. Omer Bartov (Brown University, USA), prof. Stefan Bruchfeld (Uppsala University, Sweden), Iryna Radchenko (Tkuma Institute, Ukraine), prof. Alvin Rosenfeld (Indiana University, USA).
The event will be on December 7 at 18:00 Kyiv time (17:00 Central European time / 11:00 Eastern time). The conference will be held online,on Zoom platform. The language of the event is English, no translation is provided. We invite everyone to participate. Registration is open at: https://iu.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_u7uOx-vLRtS8RuJz8MgWWA
