Moysey (Moses) Fishbein died

Dear friends! We regret to inform you that on May 26, at the 74th year of life, after a long illness, Moysey (Moses) Fishbein died. He was a Ukrainian poet and translator, an outstanding figure of Ukrainian and Jewish culture, a true patriot of Ukraine.

A member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Center of the International PEN Club, he has repeatedly been presented to various state and public awards for his work, in particular, he was a laureate of the Vasyl Stus Prize and a laureate of the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, V degree. Poetry collections and translations of works from dozens of European languages by Moysey Fishbein were highly appreciated by writers and critics and are very popular not only in Ukraine but also abroad.

We would like to express our sincere condolences to Moysey Fishbein’s family and relatives.
