On this day, the memory of children who died because of the War for Independence of Ukraine since 2014 is honored. The date of June 4 was not chosen by chance - on this day the world celebrates the International Day of Children – Innocent Victims of Aggression.
From the beginning of the War for Independence of Ukraine (2014) to the start of the full-scale invasion in Luhansk and Donetsk regions due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, at least 240 children died.
At least 705 children died between February 24, 2022, and June 1, 2026. This is official data from the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine. The figure is not final. In temporarily occupied territories and in places of active hostilities, it is impossible to establish the exact number of children killed.
This date reminds the world that behind every daily statistic lies shattered lives and untold grief.
We must remember – these children had dreams, a love of life, a trust in the world. We must talk about this, because the life of each such child is a universe that was destroyed by war.
We bow our heads!
We preserve the memory!
