Today marks the beginning of a large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. This day will be lost forever not only in history, but also in the memory of every Ukrainian.
February 24, 2022, forever divided the lives of Ukrainians into “before” and “after”. On this day, Russia began a new phase of active hostilities against Ukraine – a full-scale invasion. This attack was the culmination of the war of aggression that the enemy launched against our state 12 years ago.
For four years now, the Russians have been killing our citizens, torturing residents of the occupied territories, destroying cities and villages. All these years have been full of suffering and terrible trials. Losses, despair, separation, darkness and terrible fatigue have become constant companions of almost everyone. But Ukraine is holding on, because Ukrainians are holding on. We have proven our ability to resist Russian aggression. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are confronting the “second army of the world” and have repeatedly confirmed that it can be defeated.
Ukrainians have proven their right to life and are proving it every moment. The heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people is not only a struggle for physical survival. In this war, Ukraine is defending its freedom and European choice, its identity and values, as part of the Europeans. We are very grateful to the allies for their military, political, economic, financial and humanitarian support. However, to win the existential war against racism, Ukraine needs even more consolidated assistance.
We sincerely thank the Ukrainian soldiers!
With gratitude and respect, today we bow our heads to those thanks to whom this day has come. Thank you for every dawn and every evening! Thank you for your courage, boldness and resilience!
Glory to all who fight for Ukraine and find the strength to continue this fight every day.
Together we will win!
Ukraine will be free!
