On September 29, the Menorah Cultural and Business Center will host a special film screening dedicated to the Victims of Babyn Yar Remembrance Day. The event is organized in cooperation with the Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”, Menorah Art Platform, with the assistance of the United Jewish Community of Ukraine.
Valeriy Shalyga's film “Echoes” (2020) is dedicated to all those who died during the mass shootings of the Jewish population during World War II. The film uses memories of V. Ya. Kulikov's book “Occupation”, which makes the film not only a work of art, but also an important reminder of historical events that we have no right to forget.
Starring: Marko Herzberg, Olga Oleksiy, Oleksiy Sukhanov and Igor Volkov.
The special guest of the evening is Honored Artist of Ukraine, director, screenwriter and general producer Valeriy Shalyga, who will personally present the film, tell more about its creation, and chat with the audience.
This screening is not just a film viewing. It is a way to honor memory, see history reflected in art, and remind us once again: the power of culture and memory makes us stronger than time and circumstances.
Start of the event – at 5:30 p.m.
Admission is free with prior registration
