The Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” celebrates International Museum Day! On this occasion, we invite you to join our events, which will take place on May 18 from 1:00 p.m.
The following will be waiting for you:
1 pm – Opening of the temporary exhibition “The Ukrainian-Jewish Century: Photographs and Stories 1920–2024”, prepared by the Centropa International Institute of Jewish History. The exhibition consists of two parts. The first part is based on over 260 interviews and 3,000 archival photographs documenting the life of Jewish communities in Ukraine before and during the Holocaust. The second part includes contemporary photographs by American photographer Edward Serotta and Ukrainian photographers M. Levin and T. Kovalchuk, who recorded the life of Jewish communities in Lviv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Odessa, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kharkiv during the war. Also presented are photographs that demonstrate the lives of such prominent figures as Vasyl Grossman, Bruno Schulz, Sholem Aleichem.
