August 29 – Day of remembrance of the Ukrainian defenders who died in the struggle for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine

29.08.2024

Today, our state is going through the biggest test in recent history. The modern Russian-Ukrainian war has been going on since 2014. The large-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine in February 2022 opened a new page of heroism, resilience and, unfortunately, losses of Ukraine in the struggle for sovereignty and unity. In this war we are paying an extremely high price. Thousands of our soldiers laid down their lives on the altar of freedom and independence of our country.

Despite great losses in the modern war, Ukraine also has a historic victory – a united political nation that longs for freedom and is ready to fight for it. Currently, this struggle relies on the broad support of citizens – residents of all regions of our country, representatives of all ethnic groups, regardless of religion.

Undoubtedly, this is not the only day of the year when the fallen are remembered and honored. However, this is an opportunity for society to do everything possible to preserve the memory of heroes for generations to come.

The memory of the dead and their exploits is the highest value in the scale of our national identity. We are quite sure that after the end of the war, Ukrainian society will make every effort to ensure that the fallen heroes remain in our memory not in an abstract image or in stingy statistical data, but receive due respect, instead, their memory is alive and effective.

Let's unite brothers in this evil hour! Let the enemy know:

We are for Ukraine!
