Forum “Those who return faith in Man...”

On May 14, the Central State Scientific and Technical Library of the Mining and Metallurgical Complex of Ukraine hosted the forum “Those who return faith in Man...” dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of Ukrainians who rescued Jews during World War II. The educational event, which was held in a hybrid format (online and offline), was co-organized by the Department of Culture, Tourism, Nationalities and Religions of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine".

Nataliya Pershina, the head of the Department of Culture, Tourism, Nationalities and Religions of the Academy of Sciences, addressed the participants of the forum with congratulatory words; Ihor Romanov, head of Jewish religious communities and organizations of the Dnipropetrovsk region; Olena Kolpina, coordinator of the Israeli cultural center Nativ; Iryna Radchenko, director of Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”.

During the event, visitors could familiarize themselves with literature about the events of the Holocaust, as well as ask questions to historians and cultural figures. Among the topics of lectures-presentations that sounded during the forum were the following: “Ukrainian dimension of the Holocaust” (Dr. Iryna Radchenko); “Ukrainian saviors and Righteous Among the Nations in Dnipro” (Dr. Yehor Vradii, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”); “How to talk about the feat of the Righteous with museum means?” (Ms. Valeriya Lavrenko, DNIM named after D. I. Yavornytskyi); “Historical parallels between the Righteous Among the Nations and Ukrainian rescuers in the conditions of Russian occupation” (Hanna Teryanik, D.I. Yavornytskyi National Institute of Natural History), etc.
