Museum interactive history lessons

22.09.2021

Museum interactive history classes are actively held in an offline format! Today we were glad to welcome first-year students of the History Faculty of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University, of the program "Historical Ukrainian Studies and Applied History".

Together with our long-term partner and friend Dr. Svitlana Kayuk, future historians visited our Museum for the first time, which was conducted by researcher Dr. Olena Ishchenko. They talked about the history of Jews in our city, Ukrainian-Jewish relations, features of human behavior during World War II. Special attention was paid to the history of the Holocaust and the tragedy of Babyn Yar, the 80th anniversary of which we will celebrate next week.

But the communication did not end there. After the tour, the students met with Dr. Igor Shchupak, during which our guests had the opportunity to express their impressions of the visit and discuss the importance of learning "history lessons" and preserving the historical memory of key events of our past. It is obvious that World War II and the Holocaust were one of such events that affects our present. The discussion turned out to be active, which continued later, over a "cup of coffee."

We also talked about various educational opportunities (including international ones) and projects of "Tkuma" Institute, which students will be able to join. All that is required of them is desire. What are the scientific and educational activities for young people - about this later.
