Funds of the Museum "Jewish Memory and Holocuast in Ukraine" recieved new book

The current occupation of Crimea by the Russian Federation highlights the need for a deeper study of centuries-old events. Russification, repression against the Crimean Tatar people and against those who do not recognize the annexation of Crimea by Russia, human rights violations give rise to a number of associations with the way the communists acted on the occupied peninsula a century ago.
With the assistance of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, the Sectoral State Archives of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Research Institute of Ukrainian Studies of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Center for Liberation Movement Studies, a scientific publication was published on 1917-1920. movement not only refutes the mythology of "Russian Crimea", but also provides an opportunity to draw historical parallels with the occupation of the peninsula in 2014.
The book publishes selected archival documents on the letter case of the communist special services "Milli-Firka" (Crimean Tatar National Party), which consists of 10 volumes, more than two thousand sheets, on the history of the Crimean Tatar national movement in 1917-1920. the Investigative Commission of the Crimean Tatar Parliament in the spring of 1918, Chekist translations of Crimean Tatar documents and other evidence that reveal the complex course of the transformation processes of Crimea during the wars and revolutions.
The book consists of two parts: the first - a historical and analytical study of the preconditions, causes and course of the Crimean Tatar movement in 1917-1920, its attempts to create its own state, the main stages of the Crimean Tatar revolution, preparation and holding of the first Crimean Tatar national parliament - Kurultai ; the second, in fact, are the documents of the communist secret services. 30 documents are presented in chronological order. These are protocols, extracts, acts, investigative materials, reports, extracts, interrogation protocols, etc., some of which are currently stored in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
The publication is supplemented by a list of abbreviations, nominal and geographical indexes, illustrative material, rare photographs. The documents are represented in the original language with the maximum preservation of linguistic, stylistic and lexical features, but significant grammatical and punctuation errors are corrected in accordance with modern spelling. The text of the documents is accompanied by scientific comments and notes.
